2 STRIPES AND YOUR OUT

Happy mid week to you all! In the south of England the sun has continued to 'keep its hat on' and many Brits, including myself are slowly daring to wear fewer layers. I have also noted that this is the second day in a row that I have opted for stripes, as there just seems the be a certain summery playfulness with the choice of pattern, a perfect choice for our current weather. Another great thing that I love about stripes is that I really do believe they suit everyone, admittedly depending on your size and shape you could be better suited to a striped top rather than striped trousers, but once you've figured out how the pattern can best work for you it wont be long till your sporting the effortlessly chic spring look! Below i've found some of the newly added highstreet stripes.

Also if you haven't already noticed my pastel obsession from my previous post then you soon will. Yesterday I purchased the Topshop Milkshake (105) nail colour, which looks fairly nice in the photo below, however I cant help but feel slightly let down by this nail varnish as the colour is much more harsh then it appears in the bottle. Unlike many of my other Topshop nail colours, this one is also quite streaky and definitely requires 2 coats. So my nail varnish advice for the future would be to test a nail varnish colour by painting a whole nail rather than just applying a splodge as this will not show up streakyness neither will it give the overall colour effect.

PIMMS O'CLOCK

Hello! Wow it's been a while since my last post but I decided that it was better to abandon ship temporarily rather than attempting some half-hearted, rushed posts. Over the past few weeks I have endured many all-nighters, countless cans of red bull and the library had become my second home. But I am happy to inform you that my DISSERTATION is finally done and dusted! I just hope it was all worth it, and now I can finally relax...at least for a while anyway (until my next deadline!) After handing in our dissertations, my friends and I took it upon us to embrace the lovely weather and our freedom from work with copious amounts of Pimms and girly chats. The weather, showing promise of sunshine has led me to digging through my wardrobe to find outfits that hint of summer but still keep me warm, as lets face it, it may be getting sunny but we're still far from bikini temperatures. Things like maxi skirts, and jumpsuits are perfect for this weather.

LFW FAVES

So it's looks as though it's been a hectic few days at LFW and with tons of press/bloggers/buyers attending you can always guarantee that there will be enough catwalk photos taken to last a lifetime. Sometimes it can become a bit monotonous looking at the same regurgitated photos so I have been looking through various blogs and photo sites to try and find the most interesting pictures that tell the story of this years February LFW. Below are some of my faves that I have put together.

Hope you've all had a fashionably good week!

LONDON FASHION WEEK

So LFW is officially in full swing! Unfortunately most of us (including myself) will have to spend the week getting the low down through other peoples photos and reviews of the event. However after being fortunate enough to attend LFW last year alongside designer Hannah Marshall I have also seen some of the not so glamorous sides of going to LFW, like the hours of waiting around and general hecticness. None the less it is an experience, and one that if you get the chance should definitely be jumped at. However this year I feel content sitting with my feet up, and looking at the constant flow of photos being uploaded.
Above is a photo of me being bossy backstage at LFW last year. Wearing Hannah Marshall.

I will be keeping my eyes open and posting some of my favourite photos from 2012 LFW in the next few days.

BACK...AND IN BLACK

Hello all! My how the past week has gone by so quickly, yet my list of things to do seems to be ever growing. I am hoping to get back into the swing of things with my blog over the next few weeks so please bare with me. Also please feel free to email/comment any suggestions you may have! Anyway onto more fashion related happenings. This weekend I was extremely excited to have the opportunity to put on my best frock and dress up-to the nines as I attended a Masquerade ball. I think the joy of dressing up in our clothes is something a girl never really grows out of, and why should we! Especially as events in which require such formal attire seem to happen very in-frequently in my life, it's nice to have a change from the usual clubbing/going out dress or formal day-wear.

Luckily for me a friends of mine (who obviously gets more invites to these type of events) lent me a masque, which went perfectly with my outfit. As for my dress, nor the hanger or the picture particularly do it justice however I can tell you that when worn, the clingy material and elongated shape is extremely sophisticated ans sexy. Although you can't really see from the photo the dress has a large split at the front, which reveals just the right amount of leg, and the high neck line at front is contrasted beautifully with the open, low back of the dress. In my opinion if you are going for a classy but sexy look, I think a low cut back is definitely the way to go rather than a revealing neck line, that more often than not can end up looking too much or unflattering. I will do a later post that has photo's of me in the dress so you can judge for yourselves.

Happy mid-week!

A FASHIONABLE READ

Today rather than browsing the usual online clothes shops I have instead been scouring the web for some good reads, of which I came across the 'Cupcakes and Cashmere' book. When I began blogging this year, the Cupcakes and Cashmere blog was one of the first style blogs that I really fell in love with; the mix of great food/recipes and stylish clothes, in my mind is the perfect combination for any girl! Now seeing that Emily Schuman (of Cupcakes and Cashmere) is releasing a book based on her blog is of course great news. Like my clothes I am also very picky about what I read, and revel in keeping my bookshelf looking as stylish(and colour coordinated) as my wardrobe! But when Cupcakes and Cashmere is released in August this year I have no doubt it will be one of those books that you always want to keep at hand for inspiration. Hurry up August! What are your favourite fashion/style books? I would love to hear any of your recommendations.

Above are snippits from the Cupcakes and Cashmere blog. Have a gander.

P.s welcome all my new followers, thanks for joining!
